first senior session
Taylor Wade
I got the pleasure recently of working with Taylor! She is a senior for the class of 2026 and this was the first set of photos we got to do for her! She was an absolute pleasure to work with and she never fought with me on the weird places I would make her sit or the weird poses she would have to do and I loved that about her. She completely trusted me and my vision and I really think it worked out great!
When communication first began Taylor knew right away what she was wanting to wear for this set of pictures. The color palette of the dress immediately made me think of flowers and where better to go in this area than Powell Gardens. There were so many beautiful backdrops to chose from in our short journey there. The colors of the autumn flowers really made her and her dress pop! The weather was absolutely beautiful as well. We couldn't have asked for a better session day!
The beauty in editing
I have really enjoyed the editing process of this shoot. The before and afters are insane and I really think this area is where I shine. Fixing little imperfections, cropping to perfection, and color grading to make the photos look their absolute best is something I find so satisfying. I know there are debates on whether or not good editing is good photography but I think it's a mixture of both. There is an art to editing a photo and truly making it come to life.
These photos are a prime example of editing a photo to its full potential. These was an entirely random posing situation. I seen the lily pads and I knew immediately that I wanted to create a playful more relaxed scene. You'll notice in the before my shoe is showing, a sliver of her bra is showing, the cropping is off, the lily pads weren't exactly where I needed them to be and I needed to straighten up the shot a bit. With a little bit of editing magic and some color grading I really feel this image was brought to life. Her playful smile and the warmth of the shot creates a bit of magic for this photo and it quickly became one of my favorites.
